PLEASE NOTE THAT REVERSED MEANINGS ARE CURRENTLY A WORK IN PROGRESS

You can find the reversed meanings for all 78 tarot cards here, or by searching for them in the search bar, or by using the menu above. The reversed card meanings on Tarot-Explained, like their upright counterparts, are divided into their suits, so they’re all really easy to find! Click one of the cards from a relevant suit below to go to the meanings page for that suit.

Major Arcana

The Major Arcana are the first set of cards. There are 22 cards in the Major Arcana set. Separate from the Minor Arcana, the Major Arcana are not divided into suits like regular playing cards, but are allegorical symbols of the ‘Journey of the Fool’, a journey we all take in our lives; a symbolic journey of understanding. Click ‘The Fool’ above to find out more about the Major Arcana. The Journey of The Fool is much more relevant for the Upright card meanings. Reversed card meanings for all Tarot cards can be very subjective, but usually tend towards either a more negative version of the upright cards, or a complete opposite meaning.
